Commissioned by Center for Contemporary Art (Glasgow), EpicTales is a php based online engine translating and substituting Modern English words with Old English words, using a 2500 entries vocabulary taken from the “Beowulf” manuscript. Users are invited to type a url and to submit it pressing a button. The displayed page contains the same layout of “the original” one but with changed texts, a new font called “beowulf” derived from the original manuscript and also with all the images saved in gray scale tones.

DSCMedialab has been the first Italian university web tv, exploring new possibilities for integrating different audio/video languages,particularly in the streaming media field. The site is not online anymore. Main members were: Ugo Vallauri, Francesco Uboldi, Piervito Ciarfaglia, Alessandro Bianco and of course Carlo Giordano.
